Our Approach: Deep Consultation

At Vancover Hedge Trimming, we believe deep consultation leads to the best results. It's your hedge, your home, and your vision.

We begin with a discussion of your needs, priorities and expectations. We then use our knowledge and expertise to create options towards your vision. We execute the agreed plan with precision, and finally follow up to ensure your satisfaction.

Making Beautiful Neighbourhoods

Every home and every hedge is a unique and lovely part of our city. They add beauty, sequester carbon, and provide a home for birds.

By working with homeowners to enhance and maintain their properties, we're making our city beautiful, and fostering connection within homes, between neighbours, and with the places we live.

Our Roots

After a combined 35 years working in horticulture and Vancouver's construction industry, Andrew and Peter founded Vancouver Hedge Trimming to work in line with their values, and contribute more directly to their community.

Our partnership builds on a deep friendship, and an investigation of who we want to be and how we want to be of service.

Our hope and commitment is that each client, staff-member and partner will be served with competence, connection and trust.

Andrew Pauls

Andrew grew up gardening with his mother and grandmother, where he inherited his lifelong love of plants.

He started his first lawn-care company at 12, and ran a successful contracting company for 15 years. Empathic and highly relational, he finds deep satisfaction building a circle of wonderful long-term clients.

He's a 10 year volunteer at Maple Street Community Gardens, and through work and volunteering he aims to create a shared vision for a greener, more vibrant future.

Peter Lambert

Peter was trained as a botanist at UBC. He's completed a 1300 hour horticultural apprenticeship, and graduate courses on soil science and tree diseases.

He was raised amongst his mother's Point Grey gardens, playing with friends in Camoson Bog, and learning about plants in Pacific Spirit Park.

He feels Vancouver is full of his relations - his parents' community, parents of his childhood friends, and his friends. He's proud to partner with Andrew to serve and care for this community.

Giving Back

We value community and service, and strive to give back to the community that has raised us and given us so much.

We're proud to return 10% of our gross profits by providing free and discounted hedge trimming for seniors and seniors' centres around Vancouver. We're also happy to discuss pro-bono work for social purpose and non-profit organizations.
